Mario Aguado
Co-CEO, Aguado Group
Mario has been connected to the Aguado Group his entire life, growing up surrounded by conversations about cranes and transport. He officially joined the family business in 2010 after completing his university degree. His studies were not directly related to the lifting and transport business, but a few years later he earned an MBA from IESE Business School. During his early years with the company he worked across all the departments to gain a full understanding of how the company operates.
In 2013, Aguado launched its Wind Division, and he started from the ground up as an onsite technician, spending two years learning how to install turbines. At that time, the AGUADO Group comprised 120 people and company turnover was €15 million. In 2016, he was appointed head of the Wind Division. Since then, it has expanded internationally, and today operates in 15 countries, with more than 600 employees and a turnover of €80 million.
For the past couple of years, he has shared the responsibility of leading the company as co-CEO alongside his brothers.
“Growing up in a family business has taught us the value of hard work, trust, and long-term vision”, he says, “and together we are proud to carry forward the legacy of our parents while preparing the next chapter for future generations.”
