Managing director, ASA France
TOPIC: Learning from the air: applying airline safety practices in lifting and transport
Blanca Claeyssens is a former airline captain and instructor on Boeing 737 and 767 aircraft with more than 20 years of experience in aviation. During this period, she trained cockpit and cabin crews on safety techniques.
As managing director of ASA France, a risk mitigation and claims handling company, she will brings strong experience in safety to the lifting and transport industry.
During her presentation, Blanca will highlight aviation best practices and outline the importance of communication. She will show the implications when situational awareness is lost during a heavy lift and transport project.
“Aviation has made significant progress over the last 60 years, with zero accidents in 2017, the safest year on record for commercial air travel”, she says. “Our project cargo industry has a long way to go to match that, but the established techniques from aviation can be transferred to our industry and help us close the gap.”
