Doug Williams is in his 50th year in the industry and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Buckner Heavylift Cranes. Doug started his journey as an Ironworker and has touched all aspects of the trade moving up throughout management roles within Buckner as the company grew. As a past President and Chairman of SC&RA, Doug focused on expanding the organization’s international presence. In addition to roles within the association, Doug has served on many industry committees including the original task force that envisioned and instigated the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators and the C-DAC Crane and Derrick Advisory Committee that was tasked with rewriting the OSHA Safety Standards for Cranes and Derricks. Under Doug’s leadership Buckner has grown to be the 4th largest crane owning company worldwide in International Crane’s IC100. In his personal life, Doug and his wife Claire split time between Chapel Hill, NC and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
